★ Комиксы ★
1775: Born in St. Petersburg to a Jewish peasant, whom Ra’s has recently abandoned
1786: Nyssa’s mother dies of tuberculosis
1787: Nyssa disguises herself as a boy and leaves Russia in search of her father
1790: Nyssa locates Ra’s, who accepts her in the role that Talia now occupies
1794: Nyssa, fighting alongside her father, is fatally wounded. Ra’s places her into a Lazarus pit. It is her first death and resurrection.
1809: Nyssa decides she can no longer be a killer and leaves Ra’s.
1833: Has home in Boston, MA. Sponsors abolitionist meetings.
1923: Has home in Paris. Renowned patron of the arts. (Is friends with Picasso!)
Gives birth to a son, Daniel. Father not publicly known. By this point, she already has a number of adult children.
Is summoned to a meeting with Ra’s. Ra’s asks for her to give up Daniel to him. Nyssa refuses, along with a little help from her friend and servant, Shoshanna.
1925: Marries Aleksandr Ivanovich Gurenko in Kiev. They have a daughter, Hannah.
1941: Nyssa and her family appear (looking as if they have lost their wealth) in what appears to be a synagogue in Kiev. The synagogue is assaulted by Nazi officers. Nyssa is forced to watch as Hannah is raped, and she is herself raped. Whether that evening or later, she is forced to watch her other daughters suffer the same fate and her sons be killed.
1945: Nyssa has been in a concentration camp for years now, but is unable to die thanks to the increased endurance the Lazarus pits have given her. She is experimented upon by a doctor based on Josef Mengele. The experiments leave her infertile.
Later that year, Nyssa and the other women in her camp are marched elsewhere. Nyssa collapses en route and is left for dead. A Russian soldier finds her.
1952: Nyssa, looking completely recovered from her experience, lives in London. Spotting Ra’s in the city, she disguises herself as a maid to gain access to his hotel room, where she kills the current Ubu and tries to kill Ra’s. Unable to do so, ultimately, she flees.
2002: Nyssa meets Ra’s in Paris. Ra’s tells Nyssa that Bruce Wayne has refused Talia (and thus refused to become his heir) and that he is destroying the Lazarus pits. The meeting ends in a fight.
Late 2002 or early 2003: Nyssa receives a visit from Ra’s, who is ill and dying. She taunts him until he leaves.
2003: Death of Nyssa’s great-grandson, Vasily Vasilievich Arketov. Vasily is Nyssa’s last descendant.
2004: Nyssa moves to Metropolis, where Talia currently lives. Taking the apartment across the hall from Talia, Nyssa begins befriending her half-sister with the intention of torturing her, brainwashing her, and ultimately enlisting her in her plot to kill Ra’s. (Death and the Maidens takes place here.)
2005-2006: Nyssa heads up the League of Assassins, with Talia as her second-in-command. She has taken the title Ra’s al Ghul, dresses like him, and continues his violent war against global corruption. She kidnaps Cassandra Cain and the body of Victor Fries’ wife, Nora. Lady Shiva works for her at this time. (Fun fact! The Lazarus pit that Cass drops Lady Shiva into when she defeats her is Nyssa’s!)
2006: Nyssa is killed by a car bomb in North Africa. (In a random one-page appearance in Robin #148 that was completely unnecessary and made no sense, presumably because DC was gearing up for the Resurrection of Ra’s al Ghul crossover and couldn’t think of a good way to depose her as head of the League.)
